WINNERS 

First of all, I must say that I was very happy to have been invited to judge the FIWC show.  For me it is always an honor to judge a specialty show, and even more so when it is my own breed.  The FIWC is close to my heart, and I have always enjoyed my time at the Congresses.   
In terms of the total entry, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were many more good front assemblies than I expected. This has been a problem in the breed.  But on this day I saw many well angulated shoulder assemblies and although fewer in number, a number of the hounds entered also had good length to their upper arms.  This was evident when the dogs moved as they had better reach than those with less angulation and length of upper arm.
I was very pleased with the quality overall of hounds with type and good structure.  Good movement was also prevalent, which was wonderful.
Overall, it was a great experience and the competitors were gracious in accepting their placements.

JG: A lovely girl of great size with commensurate bone.  She is still sound for her age on the move, although starting to sink a bit in the rear. Liked her good stopline and correct underline.  Her rear assembly is nicely constructed with low hocks. She has a lovely head with a very sweet expression and was obviously enjoying her time in the ring. BEST VETERAN.

JG: This youngster was quite impressive.  A lovely female with good bone, harsh coat and a pleasing head and expression. She had a typical sighthound outline with good angles front and rear. A strong topline and underline with a well rounded croup. Good legs on her and a nice flex to her pastern.  Nicely balanced which made her move well around the ring and was quite sound coming and going. She defeated the others in her class because of her lovely sighthound shape and type.

I liked her powerful and nicely angulated rear quarters that matched with her strong front assembly. She won this class because of her good movement and correct construction.

JG: When she first entered the ring this red wheaten bitch caught my eye.  Her movement was superior – she ran around the ring with perfect foot timing.  She exuded power on the move yet made it look easy.  On the stack she projected a lovely sighthound shape.  This bitch covered the ground well with her athletic form, curves in all the right places, good condition and a beautiful head and expression. This bitch was the complete package for me…..  A deserving Best of Breed..
